Born in Welch, West Virginia in 1957, Steve Harvey was already a successful stand-up comedian and star of the television series Showtime at the Apollo when he began his radio career in 1996 as a morning host on WGCI/Chicago, with a show he lovingly referred to as “Club ThrowDown.”
